This video was produced in 2001 as a result of a collaborative effort between American Rivers, Trout Unlimited, River Alliance of Wisconsin, Natural Resources Council of Maine, Atlantic Salmon Federation, and the National Park Service.
Undamming the Hudson River is a short documentary film by National Geographic filmmaker Jon Bowermaster showcasing Riverkeeper’s efforts to restore natural habitat by eliminating obsolete dams throughout the Hudson River Estuary. As part of the project to remove the Weston Mill Dam and restore migratory fish passage on the Millstone River in central New Jersey, this video documents the fascinating history of Weston Mill (built in the mid-1740s), the efforts to preserve the surviving mill foundation walls, and an assessment of the discovered mill-related artifacts.
