The Dam Removal Project Manager Training Course focuses on preparing individuals to work through the challenges of developing and managing a successful dam removal project in New Jersey. The goal is to build the knowledge, skills, and confidence of potential project managers to allow them to lead complex projects that often involve raising hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars; engaging with active project opponents; working through unpredictable regulatory processes; and coordinating a team of diverse project partners, property owners, engineers, and contractors. Topics include river science, the basics of dam removal design and construction, project identification and scoping, and managing stakeholder engagement. The training also includes a local case study and site visit, a panel of local experts sharing their experiences with managing dam removal projects in New Jersey, and series of talks providing an overview of the permits required for a successful project.
